Vancouver's Choice for High-Quality Care
Premium Materials
Our crowns are made from premium dental-grade porcelain, which reflects the light like natural tooth enamel. Your crown will be color-matched to surrounding teeth for a natural-looking result that blends in seamlessly with your smile. Porcelain crowns are also durable, giving patients 15 years or more of use with proper care before they need to be replaced.
Complete Smiles
If you're missing a tooth or require extraction, a dental crown can be supported by a dental implant to fill the gap in your smile. Dr. Alex Wong and Dr. Vanessa Lee can perform dental implant placement surgery in our Vancouver dental office, with no need to refer you to a specialist elsewhere. Your dental implant can last the rest of your life and help prevent serious oral health concerns. If you're not a candidate for surgery, we can also create a dental bridge to address your tooth loss.

3 Reasons to Seek Treatment Now
Dental crowns are tooth-shaped porcelain caps that cover damaged teeth while creating a natural appearance. If you have a compromised tooth, there are many reasons to contact Drs. Wong and Lee as soon as possible to find out if a crown or another solution is the best way to solve the issue:
1. Eliminate Painful Symptoms
A damaged, decayed, or infected tooth can be painful, and the symptoms will just get worse over time. Dr. Lee and Dr. Wong will treat the problem to alleviate dental discomfort and cap the tooth with a ceramic crown once the issue has been resolved.
2. Save Your Natural Teeth
If left untreated, a dental infection can spread and cause you to lose your tooth or experience other oral health concerns. Saving your natural tooth is always preferable to getting a dental implant. Once your tooth has undergone root canal treatment, a crown can protect the remaining natural tissue.
3. Enhance the Appearance of Your Smile
While crowns serve important practical purposes, they can also improve the aesthetics of your smile. Dental crowns can cover intrinsic discoloration, a misshapen tooth, and other cosmetic concerns to bring balance to your smile.
A Restored Smile in a Few Weeks
Your new porcelain crown can be precisely shaped and shaded so that it feels comfortable and looks natural.
The Crown Procedure in Action
Once issues such as decay or infection have been resolved, the tooth will be reshaped to accommodate a crown. Once the crown is in place, it will protect the remaining natural tissue.
FAQ About Dental Crowns
Does getting a crown hurt?
We keep all discomfort to an absolute minimum by using a local anesthetic to block pain at the treatment site. If you're particularly nervous about dental care, need a higher level of comfort, or are receiving a dental implant, we can provide sedation upon request.
How do I care for my crown?
You can treat your traditional crown or implant-supported crown like you treat your natural teeth: brush twice a day, floss once a day, and visit your dentist at Norris Dental for routine checkups. However, try to avoid biting into and chewing hard or sticky foods with your crown—they could cause damage or pull the crown out of place completely.
My crown is loose. What should I do?
If your dental crown feels loose or has come out of place, call us. We'll schedule you for an appointment as soon as possible. Dr. Lee or Dr. Wong may be able to cement your crown back in place, but it may also be time for you to receive a new restoration.
